11/24/12 Hsinchu

I was in Walmart or some such place, looking in the bargain aisle, and there were a bunch of Veggie tales small figurines that nobody wanted. The strange thing was that they were combo pack type toy packages, like they had both My Little Ponies and Veggie tales in the same package. There was also another package with a Professor X in it. All the toys were kind of dumb looking though, as if they were all only the henchmen from TV shows that no little kids wanted to play with. But as I got to looking at the last 3 packages in the row, I found an actual Dr. Who/Veggie Tales fusion toy, of the Doctor with a little TARDIS and some tiny accessories like the cell phone, screwdriver,m and a banana.

I went to a seashore area outside of a small town on the North coast, in an area called 'The Knuckle' based on a rock formation near the beach, and there was sort of a county fair going on in a woodsy coastal strip of land next to the beach. People had dug this long muddy trough in the ground and were racing these big masses of what looked sort of like mussel shells as big as a man with a long serpentine body sticking out where the foot should be. They were dark green/gray and were called 'racing kelp' - actually giant seedpods from a type of deep sea kelp! When they washed up on shore, the people would collect them and put them in the trough, then stimulate the tails to flagellate somehow, and 'race' them down the trough.

11/16/12 Hsinchu

The things would come out of the sea and form a siege line, barricading us inside the dormitories. If you looked at one of the tar-black droplet creatures, really stared it in the eyes, you wold begin to change. We began to make out way toward the evacuation convoy, pulling out hoods over our heads and staring at the ground as we shuffled toward open ground. Our children had bags pulled over their heads. I saw that Ruth had Sofia, and I had Eve with me. As the night drew closer, and the attack became more and more imminent, there were fewer and fewer of us left as people succumbed to accidental eye contact. The eyes would become triangle and rectangle holes, the framing skin taking on a neon green or orange luminescence, as the transformation took place.
